It has broken twice in 7 months. The first time the water pump burned out after 6 weeks of operation (it took over 2 months to get a replacement pump). I have had about 2 1/2 months of trouble free operation until yesterday and it stopped working again. Guess what broke?? The water pump!! There is a small stainless steel part with 4 prongs (that cost's about 15 cents to make) that is attached to the impeller blade (this is to aid with breaking solids up, so they don't clog the pump up - FYI: I NEVER put a dish in the washer w/o rinsing it off in the sink, so no solids go into my washer), it breaks in half and seizes the pump up)... The serviceman said it is a cheap chinese metal part that is supposed to be made of a high grade stainless steel, but the (cheap assed CCP) mixes in impure scrap metal to increase their profits' Quoting: Mikhailman The serviceman said that maytag has become complete crap in the last year and that all the other companies (including Bosch) are producing inferior junk too (they are all sourcing flimsy parts from the chinese)... What ever happened to the old maytage?? where they had reliable appliances?? With the proposed bidet' corp tax increases, we will see even more crap made in china (American companies won't be able to manufacture in USA and compete), so look for massive failures in all industries... My last washer a a cheap (like $300-400) kitchenaide, that lasted over 14 years (the front panel ended up rusting out, but the washer worked fine. I wish I would have kept it!! Mikhailman |
