Former NFL player kills 5 people in South Carolina, then killed himself

Dr. Robert Lesslie has a Facebook account. His profile photo shows his granddaughter, who was also murdered, holding a stuffed animal dog. The doctor has his stethoscope on the dog as if listening to his heart. The granddaughter has the cutest smile....

This was entered on his FB page on December 8, 2020, on the passing of the family's beloved dog:

They'll blame the hits to the head. I feel for his family however, the dad really was shook up and liked the doctor. Tragic.

What an absolute crime! One man helps his community in various and meaninful ways and another man destroys him and his light. And to add insult to injury - the father of the murderer blames it on football. It is an embarrassment to our society that we let such senseless narratives exist.

Yes...his family is blaming football, but could there be something else? They interviewed people who said he never showed signs of head injuries or violence. He hasn't played football for several years. He finished his professional career with the Atlanta Falcons in 2015.

CTE symptoms emerge over time. Muhammad Ali seemed fine the day he quit boxing. Over time he got worse and worse.

If the NFL is creating these dangerous alumni, perhaps we as a society need to shut it down. We can't lock up every NFL alum although a large percentage have CTE, and so we don't really have a way to deal with the risk.

The latest update doesn't tell us much except that he broke into the home....

The photo is of one of the HVAC technicians (the article fails to tell us that)

The two men shot were air conditioning technicians who were working at the house when Phillip Adams, 33, opened fire on them before forcing his way into the home. Deputies found the men suffering gunshot wounds in the driveway at their work vans.

James Lewis, 38, died of his wounds. Tolson said the other technician, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Parkinson's? But one of my nursing school friends has Parkinsons and she never boxed or had head injuries. Michael J Fox never had head injuries.
