I know that I will once again be able to hug my mother and walk and talk with my father. There are a lot of people I want to see as well—family and friends, grandparents, some of whom I never met on this side. And I will seek out Peter and John and the Apostle Paul, as well as other giants of the faith—men and women whose words and deeds have guided and molded my journey and my heart. "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear." Marcus Tullius Cicero |

(OP) User ID: 76388104 United States 04/08/2021 01:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | former NFL player shot and killed a doctor, his wife and two grandchildren and one other person before turning the gun on himself in a horrifying scene at a South Carolina home, according to the Associated Press. Phillip Adams, who had stints with the Seahawks, 49ers, Raiders and Jets, opened fire at the home in Rock Hill late Wednesday afternoon, sources told the AP. Killed in the shooting was Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, and two of their grandchildren, 9-year-old Adah Lesslie and 5-year-old Noah Lesslie, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office. A fifth victim, James Lewis, 38, who was working at the home at the time, was also fatally shot. A sixth person, who was not immediately identified, was hospitalized with a serious gunshot wound, authorities said. I'm confused. Investigators said they have identified a suspect in the mass shooting and detained him after finding him in a nearby home. Sheriff’s officials tweeted Wednesday they were looking for a “young black male” wearing a hoodie and camouflage pants after the six victims were found. ----Did he kill himself at the neighbors??? They found him at his parents' home: Police spent hours negotiating with Adams, using a loudspeaker and sending in a robot to scan the house. She said authorities repeatedly asked Adams to come out, and promised to get his disabled mother out safely, before Adams shot himself. [link to www.detroitnews.com (secure)] |

The Adams home, roughly a mile down the road, is a modest, one-story brick house with several cars in the driveway." is this REALLY relevant to the story? ====================================== What an absolute crime! One man helps his community in various and meaninful ways and another man destroys him and his light. And to add insult to injury - the father of the murderer blames it on football. It is an embarrassment to our society that we let such senseless narratives exist. ===================================== How will the NFL display their feelings over this? This pretty much destroys their blm love parade [link to cm.detroitnews.com (secure)] |
