Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. Quoting: Doctor Congo Already fulfilled: 7So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me. 8And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria. 9And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin. 2 Kings Tiglath Pileser march against Damascus for two successive years, namely 733 and 732 B.C. Absolute hogwash. |

Sorry but that event doesn't fulfill Isaiah 17:1-3 which says the city will be a ruinous heap , will no longer exist as a kingdom and where only animals will lay down because there won't be any people. Also Jeremiah 49:27 "I will set fire to the walls of Damascus; it will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad." |

You've only named dates so far that did not result in Damascus being destroyed. Being captured / conquered / seiged is not destroyed. The world atlas even says it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. There is not a single historical event you can find that will fulfill Damascus has been TOTALLY destroyed and WITHOUT inhabitants. I know because I've looked. [link to www.worldatlas.com (secure)] |

Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. Quoting: Doctor Congo That happened in 70ad, along with the rest of the "end times" passages Damascus has never been fully destroyed or deserted. And Jesus said 'not one stone will be left unturned' when referring to the temple of Jerusalem. Which we know didn't happen fully even in the Roman siege of 70AD because there are pre-Roman parts of the temple still standing today , such as the wailing wall. So not every stone was turned. If the end times were fulfilled back then , Jesus would've already come back and we'd already be on the new Earth where animal's don't attack each other and children / infants play next to viper's dens as described in Isaiah 11:6-12 |

It was still built before Jesus made that prophecy under Herod. And the Eastern wall predate the Western Wall and still stands today also. Also prophecy is of no private interpretation. So while it arguably can be considered that these prophecies were somewhat 'fulfilled' , doesn't mean they won't happen again with much greater application. |
