Luciferase is the substance that makes fireflies glow. You are not a scientist so I won't get into it too deeply but there is a novelty in the tryptamine family in general. After some quick research, it appears that RNA for firefly luciferase is used as a marker in gene manipulation trials for the “convenience” of being traceable, because you can later use luciferin (the partner enzyme) to literally light up the luciferase protein and confirm whether you’ve had the mRNA shot.
