Can anyone red pill me on Jesus?

I’ve been spiritual for most of my life and it’s been a journey of discovery where my beliefs have evolved over time.
I feel like that’s pretty standard, maybe not, I dunno.

Anyways, I’m on board with the idea of intelligent design, but when it comes to organized religion I feel like people are asked to accept certain things as fact without providing tangible evidence.

I’m likely just working without all the information here, so I’m hoping someone here can explain how we know Jesus was the son of God.

Just to add - I’m not trying to step on anyone’s toes, I’m truly just asking this question for the first time in my life, and I like the rich culture of differing opinions we have on this site.

There have been many occurrences of the Christ figure through Earth's ancient history. History tells us that a Christ will come again and again.

God says that all of us sin. The penalty for sin is death. Jesus Christ is God who became flesh. He died on the cross in your place to pay the penalty (death) for your sin. If you believe that he did this and rose from the dead, you will be saved by faith in him.

There is not one single thing you can do on your own to pay for your sin. Jesus Christ did it all. That is why they call it the Gospel (good news). You can be saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ only.

That is the Gospel in basic form. Most people will reject it because they think they are good enough to justify themselves to a Holy God. Their pride sends them to hell.
