Over three decades, the reclusive billionaire had turned PPF into one of the most active investment companies in central and eastern Europe, with assets spanning finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, media and biotechnology.

PPF is trying to take over Prague-traded Moneta Money Bank AS and weighing a potential sale of a minority stake in its Cetin Group BV unit. While the exact future ownership structure of the sprawling business empire remains unclear, analysts at Ceska Sporitelna AS and J&T Banka AS have said they expect no immediate impact on pending transactions.

PPF Group has completed the acquisition of Central European Media Enterprises (CME) and now holds full control of its operations in the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria

Investment group PPF, controlled by the Czech Republic's richest man Petr Kellner, has acquired a 19.2% stake in biopharmaceutical firm Autolus Therapeutics AUTL.O, it said on Monday, making it the company's biggest shareholder.

PPF did not disclose the price of the acquisition, made through share purchases on the NASDAQ. Autolus had a market capitalizations of $607 million at Friday’s close, though its shares have lost 60% so far this year.



PPF already owns Czech-based biotech firm Sotio, which is focused on development therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases and has started clinical trials.

PPF's other investments range from lenders to real estate and telecommunications in Europe and Asia, including Czech telecom operator O2 Czech Republic SPTT.PR and global consumer lender Home Credit.

Death
Kellner died on 27 March 2021 in an Airbus AS350 B3 helicopter crash,[33] while heliskiing in Alaska's backcountry near Knik Glacier, 50 miles (80 km) east of Anchorage, along with four other people.[34][35] The helicopter crashed into a mountain between Metal Creek and Grasshopper Valley at about 5,500 feet (1,700 m), 10 or 15 feet (3 or 4 m) from the top of the ridge, and rolled some 800 or 900 feet (240 or 270 m) downhill.[36] The missing helicopter was reported to the authorities two hours after the tracking signal stopped.[37]
