Are they driving a car to the polls? If so, they need a driver's license (photo ID)

Are they renting a place to live, or do they have a mortgage? If so, they need a driver's license.

Do they have a bank account? If so, they need a driver's license to open it.

To get on an commercial aircraft, they need a driver's license.

If they use a credit card, they need a photo ID.

If they want to buy alcohol, they need a photo ID.

So...It's okay to require a photo ID for all that, but NOT TO VOTE?

I've just never understood this argument. If our modern age, you need ID for almost every significant public transaction that takes place. You need it for a hotel room, to buy a phone, to get on a plane, to get public assistance, to enroll your child in school, to fill out paperwork for a job, to buy or rent a car, to rent a apt or home, to buy alcohol or cigarettes, etc. Virtually every person of color lives some place or has a phone or travels or works or has kids in school or gets public assistance or drinks or smokes.

Take all those Venn diagram circles and then show me the number of people that don't fall into at least one circle. I imagine it's less than 1 in 10,000.

And now you're telling me that person who doesn't otherwise touch public society in any of the above ways is suddenly furious because they aren't allowed to vote?
