Taiwan is likely to fall with minimal resistance. That is, if they don't negotiate a pre-emptive surrender first.

It's sad and disturbing that we aren't already moving the taiwanese civilian population and industry off the island for resettlement somewhere else.

If they assault Taiwan, they will continue through the pacific like the Imperial Japanese military of WW2 history.

WWIII would break out swiftly since the US is already on record that any attack upon Taiwan is an act of war against the U.S. and we have pledged all military support needed to protect it.

The whole scenario will get very ugly, very fast with several possible outcomes I'm sure are being analyzed right now in the Pentagon.

Sounds to me like you missed the entire point of the New Testament, which is to work for the betterment of man through God... and not to second-guess His methods, or timetable.

I study a great deal but do not limit my scope to a single, archaic book... which I have read. As such, I'll always be more influenced -and pay attention to- Chinese incursions than ambiguous lines upon a page.

And that's the topic of this thread - not theological speculations.

Don't trust politicians' promises. I think that if the U.S. got into major conflict with Russia, the NATO countries would stand down and hope that they come out of it unscathed. I imagine that Russia has already made a secret agreement with the leaders of the NATO countries, that if you stand down, we won't target you with nuclear missiles.

Theology only enters the equation when you begin calculating the newly-dead and pondering where they ended up other than in a graveyard... just before you face that likelihood yourself. There are better ways to spend what may remain of this reality... such as trying to change it. Illusions -including your own- are always the most real to those who experience them.

Given how easily the US has become corrupted by anti-MAGA subversives, I wonder how Taiwan has been influenced by its own anti-Taiwan, pro-Beijing subversives?

If I want a community or nation to fall apart, I'll promote a lot of leftist people and "progressive" platitudes becoming entrenched in such places.

The dynamics of pro-BLM and pro-Antifa ("just an idea") are way more effective in wrecking a nation than flying military craft over disputed territories is.

I will suggest again:

The proper response to any attack on Taiwan by China is a naval blockade of all shipping to/from China.

China's blue water navy is fairly weak. There is no way they can project serious power to the mid-Pacific or Indian oceans.

A blockade would ruin them quickly.

As for the military takeover of Taiwan, I would suggest to the Taiwanese:

1. Round up all of the pro-China operatives. Use them for cannon fodder by putting them on the front lines.

2. Defend in depth. The Japanese provided you with lots of caves and bunkers to do this. Make it too expensive to land troops.

3. Interdict the landing craft to create The Million Man Swim. They are most vulnerable when on the water.

4. Arm your populace NOW. Hong Kong, the Uighurs, et al, had no personal arms to defend themselves. A rifle behind every blade of grass.

PI, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Australia, et al, need to know that they are next on the menu and come to the aid of Taiwan.

I do believe if China attacks Taiwan we SHOULD act.

However, since our "president" is a puppet of China and Ukrainian oligarchs...I am not expecting much out of him.
