Nice, I hope it sounds as good as it looks. Not often you see a non-master volume tube amp these days. What’s the switch just left of the inputs? Any knobs or goodies on the rear of the amp besides the outputs?

50 watts would be excessively loud without a master volume for my house since I only play high gain metal lol by the time I cranked it up to where I like the distortion I would be deafened and my neighbors trying to kill me

I’ve got a Greer Amps Tone Smuggler and an EHX Soul food for overdrive/distortion.

It has a master volume, the switch on the left of the outputs is high end frequency tone shaping toggle.

Well, let me re-phrase that about the master volume. That amp only has one volume control that I can see.

Most amps have 2 volumes, one sets the total gain of the amp (sometimes labeled “gain”) and then a master volume that sets the actual output volume of the amp.

Old school amps only had one volume, if you wanted more gain/overdrive/distortion you had to turn the volume way up to the point that it was too loud for most situations. So they started adding a second volume usually called a master volume so you could crank up the gain of the pre-amp but keep the actual output within a reasonable limit.

My ampeg super rocket (60w) has 6L6's, sounds great.

Just realised I think the purpose of a guitar amp and its good. You got a real amp anywhere with a band who might not need an amp ( a drummer for instance ) ?

But will you be in a band or end up playing to glp. You could have bought speakers or a pair of HEDD headphones for 2k and an ipad but I guess then if some people say you cant tell difference and some who say you can ( they might even have both ) real amp and ipad. Surely then would you notice difference through 2k headphones ( negatives ) but you would still have the option to mix better vs the option of not mixing and also being in a band or mixing without 2k headphones, unless you are rich. I guess if you record anyway it would just record how you are hearing it anyway through speaker ( plus the room space ) which I think might be a good perk, when people by samples or modeled instruments or just to hear plain audio.

Obviously Id need 2k headphones rather than an amp but rock on.

If you ever need drums. You got Euclidean sequencing in an app called Drambo. Its p-lockable per step and on a pattern basis. Probably better option than say a torso t1 sequencer, sequencing apps or a real drum machine. Unless t1 has a song mode. Just so you could guitar without having to stop to switch patterns.

Then again Euclidean is just patterns which you might not have envisioned. You might prefer standard sequencing for drums or poly rythums be ok enough.

That amp looks sweet, I hope you're happy with it!

My favorite amp is the Brunetti Singleman.

This is an Italian "boutique" amp, available as combo or head. It's a 16 W class A amp (or 35 W class AB). The power stage can also be reduced in output to 4 W, or only 1 W, which makes it possible to get some thick power amp saturation at reasonable volume levels.

This thing is simply amazing for clean tones and lightly overdriven crunch. It's not exactly the greatest amp ever for metal, but it's divine for blues and other styles where you want some musical tone, not just a lot of distortion. If you need more distortion, add a pedal!

The best equipment, while certainly helpful will only take you so far.

Pure raw talent can entertain with next to nothing.
Case in point: Eva Cassidy, a singer-guitarist whose talent comes but once a generation and transcends description.

Problem is, you can't buy more talent.

But you can buy better equipment!!!
