One model of mask distributed to Quebec schools and daycares may be dangerous for the lungs as they could contain a potentially toxic material, according to a directive sent out by the provincial government on Friday.

Radio-Canada has obtained documents showing Health Canada warned of the potential for "early pulmonary toxicity" from the SNN200642 masks which are made in China and sold and distributed by Métallifer, a Quebec-based manufacturer.

"If you have this type of mask in stock, we ask that you stop distributing them and keep them in a safe place now," the provincial government says in the directive that was sent by three ministries: education, families and higher education.



damn!! I was going to print out the relevant parts on paper and when confronted by a store that REQUIRES A FUCKING MASK in a mask free town and state .. I would have them sign a contract stating if I get sick from their required and PROVIDED FREE MASK AT THE ENTRY ... I can sue em for everything they've got.

It very likely does go past Canada.

And more important than that though, there's no real reason for a bunch of fucking graphene to be in a mask factory!

None whatsoever.

Graphene is a nanoparticle which doesn't really occur in nature or etc in NEARLY the necessary quantities to show up as a contaminant in paper masks in detectable quantities much less quantities which could be dangerous to people wearing these masks.

Even assuming that they're using some sort of graphene infused lubricants, if those even exist, in their production machinery it just wouldn't transfer in sufficient quantities to contaminate large amounts of entire production batches.

There's just no good reason for it to be there.

You wouldn't be all that paranoid to think that this was done on purpose to hurt people.

I've been using my "disposable" harbor fright mask from a year ago. I wear it if I have to when I go into town. It got dirty after a while so I washed it in bleach. It still gets me into stores, so it's still useful.

Why am I not surprised? Everything that comes from China should be considered harmful until proven otherwise. They literally want us dead.
