Got any sort of problem that could use a 12-step solution? There, both God and fellowship can be found.
 Quoting: jackleson

That's funny. I've been in sobriety since 2003. That fellowship has succumbed to the same isolation.

I still do Zoom meetings. They kind of suck, but I do it.

OP,

You should have spent those 2 hours driving around your town and found a church that WAS “open” and worshiping God today.

Our church never missed a Sunday through the entire COVID. BS. We held service outside at first in order to “distance.”

Then by June, when it got too hot, we came back inside, put speakers outside for those who still wanted “distance,”. but we never missed a Sunday.

You need to find a church more willing to trust the Lord instead of laws of the land.

We still have a few folks who wear masks to service. It’s ok if it makes them feel safe.

Yeah, that's probably correct. I was having a moment... angry... angry at pastors mostly. Is anyone even called to be a pastor anymore? Most, in my observation, are pretty non-value added.

I agree.

I like Shepard’s Chapel because they just Read The Bible line by line and verse by verse.
The pastor’s there are both educated in multiple ancient languages and are able to break it down to what the wording was in the original manuscripts.
They are on 24 hours a day on channel 256 on my Dish network.

OP, you are not alone.
It is a good idea to get out in nature and be in prayer alone.

Hang in there my brother.

Re: Went To Church Today. Closed For COVID.
I'm Orthodox. In our little city, the Orthodox church was on shaky ground before the Covid hit. During the crisis, our priest died and our cantor came out as gay. I don't think the church will be revived after this.

We only had the priest in two weeks a month, so the other two Sundays I went to an Alliance Evangelical church. They had many study groups and programs. When the globalists shut down the churches, they continued much of it online, but it is not the same.

There is an energy in a building when people are praying and worshipping together that is not present in a Zoom meeting or online service.

Lately I have been going to a church that advertises Sunday morning group therapy sessions to circumvent the rules. So far, nobody has been arrested.

For Easter, the BC government is allowing church services, provided that that no more than 10% of the hall's seating capacity is used. That means that to serve a congregation of 50 people, you need seating for 500.

Our governments are aligned with the AntiChrist. We must resist.

Re: Went To Church Today. Closed For COVID.
So, I've been really angry lately. I can't seem to control it and I feel like I've drifted a million miles away from God.

I decided that I needed to find a place of worship and seek a power greater than myself. I chose a little non-denominational church that is close by.

When I got there, a dude greeted me and informed me that due to a local outbreak of COVID-19, church was cancelled. No further information available.

I'm pretty disgusted by this and I don't think I'm being selfish. When did the "Bride of Christ" become so weak? When did that happen? I'm not sure where to go from here, so I think I'll drive to the mountains and spend some time in prayer.

Final Word: Church leaders, get your act together, please. Find your power again (ref. Book of Acts). Thanks.

I'm good with my faith. However, the western, modern, Christian Church is worthless and weak.

I shouldn't be surprised... just look at the seven churches listed in the first three chapters of Revelation. But, there is one... one I want to find... the Church of Philadelphia. Not sure where it exists?

I get it. My head is in a bad place right now. You have to admit, the western church looks nothing like the book of Acts.

There are commuter churches here. Once a week, we drive to a building, sing three songs, write a check, take some notes and say "hi" on the way out.

There is no community or fellowship. It doesn't hurt if you are surrounded by family. Some of us are alone and we hate it.

I would go to any Eastern Orhtodox Church at present but they limit capacity, and are mainly limiting it to the elderly it seems. In the case of the ROCOR I would like to go to, there is a 'Karen' across the street (Jwwish lawyer busybody lady) who keeps notes on the attendance numbers and will call the VPD if there is one person over the officially allowed number. At least when this is over, everyone knows who she is and where she lives. Candlelit prayer vigil on her sidewalk/boulevard seems apropos.

The early Acts Church was filled with the Holy Spirit on a level that even lying would cause death, as was the case with Ananias and his wife Sapphira

My church has been open. We started with outdoor services, but now fully opened with the option of outdoors.

Each week production team hauls these huge speakers and screens outdoor. Two of my kids work on the production team at the church and return home exhausted
This is in OC California, Governor Newsom couldn’t keep churches closed

Not sure where you live, if you are near LA here is a link and of course online is available as well as a library of past services

Re: Went To Church Today. Closed For COVID.
Matthew 18:20 comes to mind here. WHen I go back to my coast, my ROCOR property mate and I pray over food, were thinking about forming a prayer group etc. With the Churches that closed...don't EVER go back to them, for they are not of Christ, not fighting back (they may be part of the 501C3 Cergy response team), let those 'churches perish'. Find real Christians and when the 'church' becomes empty for lack of parishioners...find new Pastors/Priets/Clergy to replace them and start a New Church from the ashes of those 'churches' who have let the people down in these times. They have no merit. Are luke warm, and hence spew them from your lives. And let them know why.

From catacombs, crucifixes, and Lions prey, to overly wrought temples and fat priests with laden bank accounts. Meekness is not a Christian trait. The Scofield reference Bible has the neo-Christians wrapped in a spell woven by Satan. Hence most have become Christian (zed)ionists.
If you are not busy weaving your own magick, you are trapped in anothers spell.

Thanks for the suggestion, but you miss the point. I don't want to promote any more isolation. I'm as isolated as I can be and not by choice.

There is no fellowship and community in the modern church. I'm dying here. I've been sitting in my truck, in the church parking lot, for two hours. I don't want to go home. I don't want to watch another online sermon. I need something, really bad. I think I need people in my life that have what I want. I just can't find them.

That's probably a little too vulnerable for GLP, but it's the truth.

.
 Quoting: Whatever It Takes

People are creatures of social interaction. Extroverts can't help but interacting with others, yet introverts can't help but feeling excited by their isolation. They are not one in the same.

Extroverts NEED to be around people. Introverts, are happy to be isolated upon a mountain, with no one to bother them - ever.

We are in interesting times. Times that are damaging upon the human structure. While the political and worldly powers determine their course, it is best for you to determine your earthy resolve. Mental clarity, will push you through this when times appear to be tough.

I’m Catholic who converted from Protestantism, just so you know where I’m coming from. But one thing that always bothered me when I was Protestant was how I drove past fifteen other churches on the way to mine. There is something to be said for the local, parish church. It was your neighborhood church. The people you went to church with were your the same people you saw everyday.

Life was much more integrated then. Now we pick and chose exactly what we want thinking it will make us happier. It doesn’t.

Thanks.

I think a lot of us are trying to find someplace. I envy the people that seem so certain of their faith.

Who here is happy with their Church?

I'm good with my faith. However, the western, modern, Christian Church is worthless and weak.

I shouldn't be surprised... just look at the seven churches listed in the first three chapters of Revelation. But, there is one... one I want to find... the Church of Philadelphia. Not sure where it exists?

Lets not forget what the Western Church has done to spread His word:

J.Vernon McGee and his Thru The Bible radio show has translated the entire Gospel to over 100 languages

When the hippies were done being lost, Chuck Smith brought many of the lost to Jesus through Calvary Chapel churches

Christians in the USA still lead the world in tithing, donations, and missionary work.

How many Christian pastors supported Trump when he waged war against Syrian Christians and murdered the biggest defender of Christ in the Middle East - Qassem Soleimani?

Mike Pence, the Man from Glad look alike, went to South Korea for the Olympics. There he snubbed Kim Yo-jong, the great grand-daughter of the Presbyterian Deacon who taught Billy Graham's wife Ruth. The Kim siblings were educated in a Billy Graham org. Swiss private school. After their puppet father's death, they worked with the Korean Workers' Party (many of whom were grandchildren of Protestant WWII resistance fighters) to wrest power from the military dictatorship. They freed up the Korean economy and society. Pence treated Kim like she didn't exist. Not very Christian of him.

Persecution is good for the church. It weeds out the pretend Christians.

No, it is not. If you call 911 here to do a report they HAVE to show up. SO how do they, following their jobs, not think something nefarious might be going on and simply forget the call? You are silly. The must show up on a complaint.
If you are not busy weaving your own magick, you are trapped in anothers spell.
