Don't assume everyone will simply give you what you paid. Firstly, if you have rounds or bars, the potential buyer could balk because there is no proof that they are legit. He may offer you half their value or demand you have them tested for silver content. Depending on what you think may happen...make sure you have enough essentials stored for the long haul, then maybe buy some silver, but stick to Eagles, because they are at least recognized as money. 'Spot price' is the price of a metal not yet refined, not yet mined. The price you see above spot ($11) is after it's been mined, shipped, processed, etc. Think of it like oil that's still in the ground is worth much lower than once it's been extracted, processed, refined, and trucked to gas stations (pump price you pay is much higher). But yeah, buy some silver whatever you can afford. BU (brilliant, uncirculated) coins are priced higher than circulated, as they should be, but any silver is better than none. You can even fund IRAs with metals. Save your coins too - don't feed them into those coin machines. You may need it one day (soon), including copper. They are printing billions and trillions of $paper lately with nothing to back it; and that in itself should be a very big clue to everybody who wants to ride out this coming storm.
