This thing literally missed the Atlanta Airport and Fulton County by less than five miles...interesting...almost anomalous...but its happened before.

Weird atmosphere near that airport...it dodges all tornadoes!

Newnan, GA just took a direct hit from an EF3/EF4 tornado.

Pray for those in that area.

There may be serious loss of life with this one.

Tornado signature strengthened significantly right before it plowed through downtown.

East Newnan was hit

storm heading to atlanta but tornado is gone

Holy crap any idea how wide?

This is weird...I've only seen a supercell storm like that over or near the Gulf Coast...and only over a large body of water far out, produces water spouts.

Its hard to explain it but if you've seen those types of storms before down that way, you know this was similar but...yet...out of place in the lower Appalachian Mountain foothills of Alabama and Georgia.

Based on the radar signature and Coerrelation Coefficient my amateur guess is at least 1.25 miles wide. But could be as much as 1.75 miles.

Worst case scenario for Newnan.

Direct hit from a wedge EF3+ tornado in the middle of the night.

This might end up being worse than the AL tornadoes just because of the timing.

Crazy how the tornadic cell that hit Newnan, GA started it's journey down in SE LA.

That's a 400+ mile trek for this storm.
