They crash immediately upon opening. Unfortunately some phones like mine (an LGG7 Spring) won't let you uninstall webview so we have to wait until Google pushes out a fix. |

Quoting: Babyfacemagee If they don't push it quick, it is going to affect millions of phones and tablets world wide. Anonymous Coward User ID: 38907753 United States 03/22/2021 10:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Android's WebView is experiencing a severe issue that is causing all kinds of apps to crash and quit running. Quoting: TheGasMan II Google is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. ___________________ [link to www.engadget.com (secure)] This afternoon, a number of Android users (self included) suddenly saw notifications pop up on their devices saying that apps had stopped running. Many of the apps throwing errors suddenly can't be opened, and they include important ones like Gmail, a number of banking apps, Google Pay and others. There are reports of the problem on DownDetector, Reddit and Twitter, and Google's Workspace Cloud Status Dashboard confirms they're aware of problems with the Gmail app on Android. According to the status message, there will be an update on the issue by 8:05 PM ET (check below for more information). Just Beijing probably messing with the west. |

Quoting: Babyfacemagee yup, ALL the apps crashed at the same time and now most are NOT working. My s7 won't let me uninstall or do nothing other than force stop, which does nothing. Tried uninstalling chrome like many suggested and still nothing. This is very frustrating! imagine the millions that have no access to their security system (ring, nest, etc) because aLL of them are controlled by the apps on your phone. And banking apps too... WTF... are they creating a backdoor to the backdoor? This is freaky |
