Apologize, can't find you're original statement, but are saying NOT to take Melatonin?

It's known that short-term use has the least consequences but long-term use will produce dependency as it can affect natural melatonin production. People who should use it are those already affected by low melatonin production.

Otherwise, just learning how to sleep and dream naturally can be superior. Lot's of ways to overcome insomnia with techniques for sleep such as PMR (physical muscle relaxation) or TMM (The Military Method).

Always best to go about it naturally if one can is all... supplement only when everything else fails but that can mean removing things like caffeine or other stimulants before sleep.

Ok, thanks. That's what I do, but if you read about melatonin on the net, they say take it everyday . . .

It's the internet, there is lots of bad advice. I know 'dream gurus' telling teenagers to take Galantamine to learn to dream. It's bad advice and there is a lot of misinformation that can cause people to do potentially harmful things like hard drugs just to have a trippy dream. Sure they can do it but often these things have consequences and were not nessicary in the first place.

The influence of Carlos Casteneda caused a large group of people to do entheogenic dreaming but if you read his entire works Don Juan told Carlos in the end that he didn't need the drugs, he just chose to use them.

Being part of the dreaming community since the inception of the internet I can only say that those who just train it as a skill over time and let it develop seem to keep at it enjoying a rich dream life.

I prefer the natural approach to life because it's often the most rewarding and safest approach. Dreaming included.

I think learning some control over all parts of your life are beneficial - including this.
Thank you
