Do not lose any rights when you join the U.S. military. However, in practice several of your rights (as delineated in the U.S. Constitution) face restrictions you wouldn't normally face in a civilian environment. For example:

Soldiers, sailors, and airmen may not make statements supporting or opposing any political party or position, nor may they participate in any political gathering, while wearing the uniform or in any other way acting in a manner that could be construed as a military endorsement of said parties, positions, or gatherings.

You have an entirely different set of rules and laws to guide, govern and judge you by while serving. It's called the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

That's not to say you don't still have Constitutional “rights,” they just aren't quite the same as you might enjoy as a civilian. You are held to a stricter, some might say higher, Code of Conduct.

I’ve been out of the active military (Army) since 2009. This slide is no different than the slide we received then, with the exception of some tech savvy specialist adding a couple current emblems. Nowhere does it say or even insinuate that “keeping constitutional oath...” anything. Stop being dramatic and sensationalizing something where there is nothing. To be clear, the implications of this are that all enlisted soldiers must make a choice: Loyalty to the constitution, or Loyalty to the establishment.

This policy confirms that the constitutionally mandated oath, for both elected officials and enlisted soldiers, is now a hollow set of words mandated by an obsolete document. Adherence to those words constitutes extremist gang activity.

Once the soldiers who choose loyalty to the constitution are purged, the only ones left will be openly hostile to the values. They will go through the motions as mandated by constitution as it stands today, but they are hollow words that have no meaning.
