The counselor (this was in the 90's...) told me that I could take all the science classes I wished to go TOWARD a Vet medicine degree...but it would never be approved because I was a female over 30. He said the stats didn't support approving females over 30 in most Vet schools in the U.S. It was really crushing. Went back to History/Journalism and got the degree and I'm not sorry. I've been binge watching this program called "Heartland" on Hulu. It's Canadian produced, from 2007, and there are 13 seasons. I'm on season three, and I'm LOVING this program. It's about life on a horse ranch, the young woman is a "horse whisperer" of sorts, there's a Vet....there's country, rodeo, and just a little bit of innocence in it. IT'S A CLEAN program....many moments in it sweet. It's a tad bit sophomoric, what with some of the youth in it....but it's CLEAN. It is refreshing to be watching a program where people aren't cussing each other out, fighting and killing one another, being sneaky and underhanded....fucking making programs, omg, with masks on. We can't get away from what's wrong everywhere because it's all over our "entertainment." I'm really enjoying THIS program....  You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
