The 2 friends were enjoying an after work St. Patrick's Day
Drink...First visit to the PUB since the lock-down and
they were so glad to get "back to normal." McPug had already had a few at work...and he was "reflective."



McPuggins could see her face and her funny wig
in his mind's eye--as if he were there in front of
him. He begins to remember their LAST ST. PATRICK'S DAY
BEER A YEAR AGO..

"She was so beautiful..." McPuggins assured Jack.


"...I'll never forget her face
when I told her over a St. Patty's beer that I'd
been fired...and they'll cancel my f'ging PENSION."
We would need to postpone the wedding.



"That's rough...How did she react to your news, McPugs?"

She was real upset and especially since she had just
ordered another 3 or 4 of those adorable wigs she wore.
"You mean...I have to cancel my wigs...and we won't
be able to go to Miami for Spring break?...That is awful!"
Then she started to cry.


"I told her I would try to find another job and that
our LOVE WAS STRONGER than any set-back."



"So good you could comfort her. But...where is she
tonight? Isn't she here?"


"Um...well...I TRIED to comfort her, dude.
She pulled her wig off and threw it at me. She said:
"I'm NOT going to spend my life with a Loser little
PUG with no prospects IN A PANDEMIC... I need someone
who is...(she pauses)...WHO IS "BONY FIDE!" YOU AIN'T
BONY FIDE, MCPUGGINS!" It killed me hear her say that.
