The Yellowstone volcano magma chamber is a lot bigger than originally thought. In 2015 it was found to extend into Idaho, so maybe all the EQs are reflecting magma movement of the Yellowstone volcano??

I noticed earthquakes today, there as I do EVERY DAY!

If you go to the map below and select Satalite view and scroll in to where the quakes are you will see SMOKE, just slightly to the lower left of the earthquake epicenters.

Is this now an Active Volcano? Is that Volcanic activity?

I would love to zoom in and see it, but the map jumps around to much for me to follow if I try to zoom in.

Just looking at the area in orbital photographs, I can see the area you are describing is where the slope failure occurred and lave poured out Eastward from what is now called the Yellowstone Caldera.

But that is for a different topic and thread Os.

I would expect that area to be very active volcanically or have been active in recent history as that is very apparent in high altitude views.

Quakes are not weird in that area. Nothing out of the norm.

From what I've seen on other channels, this is likely due from tunnel rescue operations.

Select imagery on the layer tab at the right LEFT side of the map and go look at central Idaho, near the 3.6 quake.

You can see the smoke and plumes better on this map than the one from my original link.

They are definitely there!

Look at the date setting.

Those are all recent within the past year.

Prior to that earthquake activity was very low or nil.

As I already showed in a previous post, the area is averaging almost 10 quakes per day since the big one last March.
