I would not be proud right now to be loyal to the US dictatorship. I don't think any of the military is. And they probably ARE planning a coup. Shit happens. Texas WILL control their borders because it won't come from Washington. Abbot or not, it's going to take a while (hopefully). I would bet a nickel there are many governors talking about this with each other. Believe me, I and others have learned from history. It doesn't mean we will face this with fear. There are ways to handle this including declaring a Constitutional Convention. My preferred option BTW This is happening all over the planet and will in China (like it or not).
