The victim, 29-year-old Johnarian Travez Allen, was shot eight times around 7:45 p.m. Thursday in Union Springs, a small town in Bullock County about 45 miles southeast of Montgomery.

Police responded to the scene at a gas station on Underwood Avenue. The shooter, later identified as
\Jeremiah Wesley Penn, 22, had already fled but law enforcement says he quickly sought out a sheriff’s deputy friend to whom he turned himself in.

LOL - I remember a few years ago when walking speed was linked to deaths (as in the slower you walk the more likely you are to die sooner). Man, I've been speed-walking ever since!

This is one of those BS scientific discoveries. Old and frail people walk slow. They are more likely to die. Fit and sturdy people walk quickly. They are less likely to die.

The speed you walk is just an indicator of how frail you are. Walking faster won’t change that. The speed you walk isn’t the cause. It is the result.
