Weird friends?

Any out there in GLP land have any strange friends? Like, stranger than yourself. Who seem to act/say their thoughts without really... thinking?

My buddy Daron is probably my most loyal homeboy, he's this big Japanese/Caucasian guy who looks like elvis.

Often, when I am chilling with him, he will mumble, mostly incoherent syllabels. But he will drop jewels once in a while.

I am not sure how much acid he dropped, but he's an interesting guy.


He's like a walking night club. It's awesome.

Women will look at him mumbling, laughing. Then look at me. Then look at him. Then stare at him.

Most often chicks ask:

"Is your friend drunk?"

No, my friend is just Daron.

An interesting thing about him, in his apartment, instead of posters etc, his wall has 200,000 printed names of African Soldiers who died in Africa because of oppression.

I asked him, why he posted those on his wall.

He said: "Because it's the honorable thing to do."

Well... thats not what he said exactly... (he just grunted, mumbled some syllables and started laughing) but thats the impression I received from his non-verbal communication.

He's a janitor, and most often, people will automatically think that makes him like a lesser human being and not appreciate his genius.

Another interesting article in his apartment is he has a floor plan/blueprint of a McDonalds building, like an actually contractors blueprint, and he went on rambling about how they are designed perfectly, architecturally etc.

I have another friend who is a 40 year old Japanese woman. Probably the most peaceful and mild mannered woman I have ever met. After talking to her for a while, we ended up talking about drugs and politics. I was kind of shocked, when a 40 year old pregnant Japanese lady was telling me how she did heroin and coke because she made the decision to "Try all drugs just once to see what the hype was about."

Me asking my 6 month pregnant Japanese friend: "If you could go back, and do things differently, would you do still do those drugs?"

Her: Smiles, shakes her head.

It's weird because she's so mysterious to me now. Even guys who work with her all day long don't know her best kept secrets.


Moral of story:

Looks and assumptions are deceiving. Sometimes you're so sure of something to be true... but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I hate assumptions, but I think this is a natural tendency that is formed during child hood. Also sometimes purposely play on your own internal assumption making mechanism to control your reaction.
