China no longer has a no first use policy so in theory they could and might hit us out of the blue on a Tuesday.
A lot of it depends on how fast we can get some systems finalized and whether we can shift our defense posture enough to be a credible threat to china.
Right now, we're not a credible threat.
China could hurt us much worse than we can or would hurt them in a nuclear exchange scenario.
To be honest, at this point we are basically at the mercy of the Russians to hit the Chinese fast and hard in retaliation for china nuking us.
Our leadership is heavily compromised by china and morally weak....
We can obliterate china from space with no nukes... in minutes.
They will fold like a cheap lawn chair in the face of Chinese nuclear aggression.
