Im taking a flight tomorrow from phoenix to Detroit. Im always scared to fly. But have been on 50 plus flights. God i hate the bus though. And would only ride a bus a half to full day.

you can spot em easily. i subconsciously will navigate to their blind spots its super weird... you know what MKULTRA is? we are some strange motherfuckers... ive been approached by loss prevention before at big box stores because they thought i was casing the place.... we ended up having a wholesome conversation about S.E.R.E lol

hmm.. maybe nut up and just fly.... this does sound kind of treacherous.
 Quoting: Plato II

For the price of a plane ticket these days you could probably just get a used beater van. Put some love on the engine and ride solo with nothing but your thoughts, audio books, and coyoets howling in the moon light on some desert road. Fuck people and I do mean at this state of the world stay away from people.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79509937

at this stage im leaning more towards saying fuckt and taking this bus... it wont be for another month or so but rest assured, we will have a new thread in real time when that day comes.
 Quoting: Plato II

$141 one way Sacramento to Boston on either United, Alaska, Delta or American

longest flight: 8:27

$234 on Greyhound. Gets there 73 hours

why are you even still having this discussion? chuckle

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
People ride Greyhound because they think they will sleep. The only way to do that is ride with a friend and take turns sleeping.

There are always soldiers on bus trips, so it's not like security is an issue.

Nobody raised a ruckus, there just were talkers the WHOLE way. Kooky, anxious, worriers, lonely people, elderly, sad people, noisy joke and storytellers, crying babies, obviously sick people coughing, people who look like they are tripping, etc.

Amtrak is expensive and it's difficult to go all across the country for most unless going hub to hub.

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
hi everyone. i am potentially going to be taking a bus from northern california to boston, some time from april to early june. one plus side to the pandemic is, i wont have to sit next to some sweaty fat person, or a drunk crazy person... because of social distance.

im pissed i wont be abe to smoke weed for 4 days so i plan to pack a bunch of THC gummies in my carry on, and probably some valerian capsules to help with sleep.

ive taken a greyhound across a ew states before but it was nothing compared to what this trip will be. we're talking 4 days, possibly 5 if the layovers/ transfers take longer(which they will).

if anyone has done this; gone across country in a bus.... what should i expect? any advice is highly appreciated! im kinda worried about it but i have a lot of good things waiting back in boston that i need to get to.

i'll drive you i take that drive all the time well from eureka ca to NJ

I would avoid buses, airline planes, , trains OP.

Rent a car or van and drive instead.

You ever been to jail? Its the boredom not the danger that is the true punishment. And just like jail, when you sleep you dream of the out side world. But when you wake up your still there.

Youre signing your self up for a week with 2 days off for good time.

Another similarity with jail. You will meet some of the dumbest people you have ever met.

yep im actually kinda worldly but its weird ive been around you know but at the same time still pretty naïve.... when it counts im ok but the nuances of life escape my grasp. i deal with it just fine like a horse with blinders on. i like it this way, imposed by the handlers whom ive never met.... but they control the outcomes of our futures and its something ive come to accept. they are granting my passage back east so im just thankful and thats all i really care to say on that matter :)

One really nervous guy said, "So you are obviously a Christian, right? Well my girlfriend has HIV and I think she will die, but I love her, and we are having protected sex and living together. What should I do?"

That went on for hours and hours.

The one and only last frontier left in America. You'll meet all kinds of people. Don't fuck with anybody, mind your own business, respect everyone, speak slowly and deliberately with words that carry authority, don't rattle on, and be honest with yourself. You'll enjoy the adventure.

If you are a hardcase atheist, yeah maybe you could do it as you don't give a shit about anyone.

For the rest of humanity who are normal, imagine double digit hours of people describing their sins and hoping you can sincerely convince them that God will forgive them.

That was my experience.

I did across 3 states before and I shit you not some black guy was getting head in the back. The actually bus stations when I got off in Atlanta felt like the world War z movie and I was 12 at the time, never met this dude before but he was open carrying a pistol. I stayed right next to him the entire time.

Other than that the busses have wifi and it was nice.

Just like jail it wont kill ya. But you will come out the other end with a new out look on life and goals so you dont end up like the people you met.

In jail i was in a 12 man cell. There was a man we refered to as garbage can mouth. How many people you met that have never brushed thier teeth a single day in thier life. You may meet someone like that. And that kind of stank can cover some yardage.

brotherino, when have ytou ever known me to be an aetheist? perish that immediately-
Gnostic
is way way wayyyy different from
agnostic
or
aetheist.

please, as a member of the GLP community its your duty to be informed on this subject. many of your fellow members align themselves with the gnostic belief system.... just another demographic to consider when reading and posting. we are not a small minority either, just a group that doesnt prosthletize or evangelize. in fact im probably the biggest loud-mouth among them. which i also give zero fucks about.
