Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
Just from Michigan to New Hampshire took forever it seemed. Broke down once and my last stop was Dover to New Hampshire, I go in to find out no bus goes to New Hampshire from Dover lol.

Had to sit on the steps waiting for my brother in law to drive from New Hampshire to get me lol. Train is nice.

I did Vegas to DC in the late '90s as a young man.
First time in the States and it was...interesting.

I've been searching for a thread for half an hour.

I couldn't find it,but I'm pretty sure that it was pre-plague - late 2018 or early 2019.

Some dude chronicled what seemed like at least 48 hours of a bus trip.

I seem to remember dude was going to the NE from FLA,and he talked a little bit about Atlanta.

I did find this thread for you, though.

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
Do not do it!!!! I have, and it was the craziest shit I ever experienced. From Cali to Indy, broke down in Arizona desert and almost got jumped by a group, next stop almost got stabbed by a guy in line, had a drug addict female fall in my lap on the bus, and finally had a guy try luring me into a dark alley, and a native American sat by me and said he had to leave cause he watched his buddies gf axe his buddy to death. Do Not Do It!!!!

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
I did it on a train once back in the ‘90s when I was in college. Told myself I would never do it again. My recollection is that it killed my back sitting so long. Make sure to get up and move every chance you get. Maybe try to eat less and take some imodium so you don’t have to crap much (I do this on extended hiking trips). Brings some Advil. Good luck!

Me too. The seat was extremely uncomfortable for me. I wished I’d brought a lumbar support pillow and one for my neck.

You'll meet a who's who of mental illness.

I traversed the country 5 times in the past 35 years on Greyhound and Trailways.

It's quite an experience. My biggest negative is changing buses and getting on late so you can't have your pick of seats.

Don't expect to sleep much or get any quality of sleep. Every layover take a whores bath in the bathroom sink. Bring baby wipes too.

Lots of snacks and a book or two.
