anything and everything . Ive been threatened to be stabbed and driver left the guy in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles from the nearest town , crazy drunken parties in the back of the bus , dykes doing meth in their seats .

Greyhound is for the people too broke to afford 159 AA flight .

it might be a smooth no worries ride or the craziest shit youve ever seen . We picked up inmated being released from a prison on one stop.

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
hi everyone. i am potentially going to be taking a bus from northern california to boston, some time from april to early june. one plus side to the pandemic is, i wont have to sit next to some sweaty fat person, or a drunk crazy person... because of social distance.

im pissed i wont be abe to smoke weed for 4 days so i plan to pack a bunch of THC gummies in my carry on, and probably some valerian capsules to help with sleep.

ive taken a greyhound across a ew states before but it was nothing compared to what this trip will be. we're talking 4 days, possibly 5 if the layovers/ transfers take longer(which they will).

if anyone has done this; gone across country in a bus.... what should i expect? any advice is highly appreciated! im kinda worried about it but i have a lot of good things waiting back in boston that i need to get to.
 Quoting: Plato II

I had a few times in my youth. It's rough. Long haul bus is tedious. You stop at damn near every city along the way. Even small towns. You don't get a lot of time at the stops. Some stops you'll barely have time to smoke a cig.

Things to carry with you.

1. Wet wipes, trust me you'll need them or you'll be stanky.
2. Plenty of cash, to eat with.
3. You're idea of taking gummies, is great, but DON'T let anyone see you eat them. Some states they are illegal in !!!
4. Get the back seat asap, so you can lay down to sleep, fetal but it's better than sleeping sitting up.
5. If you make friends along the way, don't tell them shit about what you are carrying on the bus. NOTHING.
6. Carry plenty of water with you too, if the bus breaks down, you don't know how long you'll be trapped on the side of the road.
7. Carry a knife.

Good luck.

Cali to Boston, on a bus, wearing a mask the entire time? Using public restrooms for days?

No way, suffer on a plane for a day. My husband is a pilot, very few folks he knows caught Covid.

Fly!

I've taken cross-country bus rides several times, mostly for work. It's no picnic. I'd rather spend my last penny on renting a car than take a bus.

I took a bus from Florida to New Orleans when I was young, that thing stunk so damn bad, the toilet smell overwhelms the whole damn bus.

Don't do it..

yeah sounds accurate. oh dont worry ill be incognito.... the last thing you want to do when stuck on a bus with 35 strangers is interact or stand out in any way. a wax dummy.....is what i'll be for all intents and purposes. unless a terrorist hijacks the bus then ill be a hero. would be so badass.

don't do it

usually always late, break down or not on time

I didn't eat, that way you don't use the shitter

just fly to Boston

people don't understand

greyhound is miserable

plus you have to add the food cost

plane so much easier and convenient

You might also get debussed in some downtown city after midnight and bus station closed. what will you do? Better have numbers of cabs and hotels ready

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
I did it when I was a teen. Be prepared for a slow ride, with lots of stops. I didn't mind that. I didn't sleep at all, went from FL to WI, stayed awake whole time.

I tend to make friends easy, so I had a blast. Just so happened there ended up being 3 people my age and we were playing games and all kind of stuff.

The way back, not so fun, sat next to an old racist lady, LOL, so I think I just read or looked out the window.

The thing to be most prepared for are the stops. They tend to be in the REALLY bad parts of town. When you see rape warnings in the bathrooms, you know it's not good.

Also, if you do get off at a stop, make sure and get back on early, these guys won't wait.

I'd say the train was actually more fun, less worry about stops, etc., step up in quality of people, kind of exciting, you have a scenic car that faces outwards on the Silverstreak from DC to Chicago, pretty fun.

Just from Michigan to New Hampshire took forever it seemed. Broke down once and my last stop was Dover to New Hampshire, I go in to find out no bus goes to New Hampshire from Dover lol.

Had to sit on the steps waiting for my brother in law to drive from New Hampshire to get me lol. Train is nice.

Re: ever taken a greyhound bus across country{USA}? looking for advice
Gone from Los Angelos to Louisiana. Expect to spend time in jail for carrying THC gummy bears with and remember that buses are under federal control and on federal highways so felony charges and federal prison. Not to mention every podunk town and bus station you go to has police waiting on buses to arrive especially from states that have legal marijuana as they know there is always at least one person dumb enough to bring it with them, they know exactly what to look for, they know the brands, and everything. The ride itself will not be fun especially with the influx of immigrants who are being bused out to everywhere so don’t count on social distancing as they will cram it full. Take a phone charger but don’t expect the bus to have a place for you to charge it as it’s every 4 seats and unless you have a knife in one hand and a gun in the other you will never have a chance to charge it. Best bet to find a cheap flight and just go with it as you will not enjoy the bus trip

i guess the beauty if it is, there will be so many transfers i doubt ill even notice who is driving unless they start swerving into the median or some crazy taxi type of shit.
