Anonymous Coward User ID: 80064326 Luxembourg 03/10/2021 03:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I flew the DOG (greyhound) from Phily to Detroit and it was very enjoyable. Bus seats beat anything the airlines have to offer including AMTRACK. Spacious and panoramic view from large windows allow you to sight see. Met some very interesting people as well. I sat next to a gal from Israel who was a world class pastry chef that was competing all over the world. I asked the driver why we coulndt sit in the front seat and he said "SNIPERS". The Israeli lady burst into laughter as she told the driver that you dont have snipers like we do in Israel. Bus drivers think they are AIrline pilots and their bus stations are like airport terminals. They will check your identity and also scan you like they do in airports. If your a pot smoker, you will find plenty of like minded people on the bus, some will be sleeping one off. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 35745926 United States 03/10/2021 03:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | hi everyone. i am potentially going to be taking a bus from northern california to boston, some time from april to early june. one plus side to the pandemic is, i wont have to sit next to some sweaty fat person, or a drunk crazy person... because of social distance. Quoting: Plato II im pissed i wont be abe to smoke weed for 4 days so i plan to pack a bunch of THC gummies in my carry on, and probably some valerian capsules to help with sleep. ive taken a greyhound across a ew states before but it was nothing compared to what this trip will be. we're talking 4 days, possibly 5 if the layovers/ transfers take longer(which they will). if anyone has done this; gone across country in a bus.... what should i expect? any advice is highly appreciated! im kinda worried about it but i have a lot of good things waiting back in boston that i need to get to. at some stops drug enforcement cops have dogs sniff all the baggage, if you take anything illegal you may get arrested and some states used to have ridiculously draconian penalties for even small amounts of marijuana etc other than that all i can say is its a pretty miserable experience, you are tired but cant properly sleep, and then dead tired you have to exit and wait around in a greyound station for an hour or more for a connecting route, or just because they have to clean the bus you're on i once made such a trip when i was being actively targeted with directed energy weapons and thats a whole new level of misery, because these weapons can be used to kill but they can also be subtle and just make you uncomfortable so that you can't even get a short nap and go 24, 48 hours or more with no sleep at all, and can even make it so that you cant seem to find a comfortable position to sit in your seat ... believe me ive made a greyhound trip across country while being targeted and then later without targeting bring something to read and a lot of redbull |

And so there is a high chance if you are a sensitive Christian, those folks will pour their hearts out in excruciating detail. Wives think their husbands are cheating on them. Soldiers think their girlfriends have been sleeping with the soldier's best friend. Parents are scared about their adult kid's future. Everybody has money problems. People admit to affairs, drug addictions, porn use, gambling debts, alcoholism, etc. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48559914 All of that comes up minutes after someone finds out you are a Christian as they are hoping you have answers. They are scared. love you too :shiva: Faker and a liar |

The former are honestly liars and selfish. User ID: 40546062 United States 03/10/2021 07:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You would spend $200 to $300 on a bus or $600 to $700 plus gas for a one way car rental or if a round trip the car could be as low as $400. I would use my stimulus check and rent a car.. Last Edited by Soundman on 03/10/2021 07:27 AM Soundman |

I took Greyhound in the 80's through New York, Massachusetts, and back again down through Florida to Ohio. But not in one stretch, always stayed for a few days. You have to do some gymnastics frequently. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79460486 Singapore 03/10/2021 08:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Railway is much faster and more roomy... but Greyhound gives you more opportunity for taking in the landscape. It has definitely its charms. I would suggest railway if you want to be where you want as fast as possible and you really need more than (relatively) minimal comfort, otherwise go by Greyhound. |

User ID: 80125082 United States 03/10/2021 02:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When I was about 14 I rode the bus from Detroit to Cincinnati to visit my older sister who was living there with her graduate school husband. The bus was actually very cool as it had that window bubble up top and sometimes I got to sit up there. The bus broke down in the middle of nowhere at night and the driver went to get help. So there I was sitting all alone in a bus full of people not my race. This was back in the day of all the riots too. Anyway a nice older lady just ahead of me must have noticed I was anxious and said "Don't worry honey, we are not going to hurt you". I appreciated that. "It's a friendly friendly world" (Andy Kaufman) Calm seas do not a sailor make, Nor easy horses, a horseman. And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower and when He could be certain only drowning men could see Him- Leonard Cohen |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76948831 Bring a vape use it in the shitter. or u can just get a smoke buddy and prob hit it in ur seat with proper positioning considering the social distancing. Use the energy padwan. Don't fight it. rso. i took a gram of it orally an hour before taking a 747 to europe. i couldn't talk really. ugh-ed my way through it. not that i was out of it but i was high enough that everything i thought i would say beyond yes no and my name would come out crazy like i was kinda tripping. but sooooo calm and i did not want to fly over the ocean. watched movies drank some free wine on the plane and sobered by landing. first few steps out of heathrow airport a crazy russian lady was(fake?)talking into a cell phone. starts screaming mafioso and swearing at me. really caught me off guard and i found it so funny. |
