Any TAX PEOPLE on?.....I have a quick and easy to answer question, please?
I did my taxes online this year through Turbotax. They were accepted today. My question is--

When does the tax info get into the IRS database? Right away?

Because the IRS now has my banking information, I just only need it to be downloaded to their records in enough time, so I can get this next $1,400 Stim pay via direct deposit.

Is there anyone reading along who knows when that info becomes solid in their system? Do you think I might have a problem with it getting solid before the doofus in charge signs the Bill?....I think he's supposed to do that on the 14th.

Heh, I turned my taxes in on Feb. 15, but it was rejected, saying my AGI wasn't correct. I sent off for a transcript of my 2019 taxes - that took two weeks to get back - but they said they had no tax records for 2019.....wtf.....I mailed those in almost 8 months ago to the day.....8 MONTHS, and they have not yet been opened.

I won't bother you with the litany of cuss words firing in m'noggin.....billlaugh

I got a hold of the recording lady on Turbotax this afternoon - heh, she's always available rolleyes - and it was suggested I put 0 for my AIG amount, which I did, and hot damn, it was accepted.

I was quite literally praying it would be accepted....pray

Given I've retired and I'm no longer an independent contractor, a lot that makes the deer scream in my head is just about over.

I am indeed tickled pink it was accepted, I just want to make sure my bank info is in, in enough time.

Thank you in advance to whoever knows the answer to this question....hf

The stim checks are based on your 2019 tax filing info, including the direct deposit account info. That’s why people who no longer have the bank accounts they filed with in 2019 get their checks mailed to them.

At least that’s my understanding.

Thank you, but that doesn't answer my question. They have my correct banking info.

When I filed my 2019 taxes, the $1800 in Stimulus Pay I hadn't yet received was attached to my taxes. That actually worked out good for me, because my tax bill (after deductions) was over $1500.

$220 goes to Turbotax, and I get a $120 refund for both Fed and State. I would've been hurting if it weren't for the Stimulus being held back and there.

I'm so glad I'm not an independent contractor anymore. It's a huge pain in the arse....I mean the tax directions for filing a 1099 are so f'n convoluted, I'd gladly THROW the $220 at Turbotax, and then turn and flip the IRS off.

I'm so glad this is the last year I have to deal with their crickey!....hf

Will your federal refund be direct deposited to your own bank account or does it go to TurboTax who then sends your portion to you?
Or is the IRS going to do the split of the refund between you and TurboTax.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure....I set it up so that the Turbotax charge comes out of my tax return, and the tax return is direct deposit into my bank account.

It's pretty quick. You should get a notification within 2 days when your return is accepted by the IRS.

There's usually multiple threads started about posters receiving their Stim pay....but sure, that would be great if you did....hfhugs

Turbotax told me I should get my return around the 27th of March...but all the IRS needs for the Stim pay is my banking info, which they should have in their system within the next few days. Some GLP buddies have been posting the answer on another thread.

I've had such a run around for about 10 months now....I can't even tell you how frustrating it has been. I have been fit to be tied with their lack of communication skills, at and with EVERYTHING. The one time I actually got an agent on the phone, I tried so very many times, their system was going, going, going...."I'm sorry ma'am, my system just went down."

They are incompetent bureaucratic buffoons.....huffy

I mean, 8 months since I mailed 2018 and 2019 in - yes, I know, my bad for mailing - and they haven't been posted yet, likely not even opened yet. And I had to mail 2018 in again because they said I only mailed my payment and not the tax return....pfht, as if.

And that whole time they're saying they need an address to mail the (past) Stim pay to me, and THEY HAD MY ADDRESS because I was receiving mail from them about my 2018 taxes.....gaah

There was a problem last year of stimulus payments going to TurboTax bank account rather than to the tax filer, then TurboTax returned the money to the IRS, then the IRS had to mail the stimulus. Hopefully that has been fixed or won’t happen this time.

I do think you filed soon enough that they will have the deposit information in time for the $1400. My refund showed pending into my account about 8 days after my tax return was accepted, so that must mean they enter the bank info almost instantly when return is accepted.
