Not true. They are around all the great lakes and the st Lawrence seaway that I know of. Chicago has 'em so does Milwaukee , Green Bay, Niagara Falls and Duluth , and Northern New York is loaded with the bastards. They also follow ships up from the gulf up the Mississippi as far north as Minneapolis that I know of, and are all along the intracoastal waterway

I've had one of these flying rats steal a chicken sandwich from me once....

At the end of summer when the tourist go home, we have someone lie under a white sheet at the beach and then we put a bunch of bread chunks on them. You have to lay really still and they will land on you, you can catch them with sheet

I had then steal food from me on numerous occasions, one time I remember when I was a teenage a fucker tried to fly off with a just-opened bag of Doritos and I caught his ass in the act. They especially like junk food and garbage, and hang out anywhere either is readily available, like for instance a park where people picnic..

The funny thing I noticed is when you do catch them they dont struggle or squawk like you'd expect, they're very calm.

They're just peop,e who by karma, fate whatever took birth as seagulls.

They like junk food, so theyre the same as us.

I was on a ferry a few years ago, and seagull took a whole hamburger out of my hand. It took it with just as much force as a crazy person taking it from your hand.

They are not particularly hard to catch for the simple reason they are so damned audacious.
If they're is a bunch of 'em around when you're eating, they're going to go for it and knowing that makes it pretty easy to catch one.. I don't usually try to catch them because they're nasty ass birds that try to shit on you you so you let them go, but I've whacked quite a few of them with a bitchslap or a backslap.
