Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79094956 the converters are not 100 each in my state you can't even get the old converters anymore they have to be california emissions also there are 4 of them, not 2 all that aside why would i do all that work for a very very minor exhaust leak that is compensated for by resetting the fuel trims when i drive? not to mention the one broken exhaust bolt inside the cylinder head that needs to be drilled/removed it's a design flaw on these expeditions IMO because they use 4 converters instead of the standard 2, every one of these expeditions that are this same design have exhaust bolts broken or stripped in the cylinder head What year model is it? Mine is a 2002 and it only has 2 converters. I hole you're not mistaking the two mufflers after the split as converters. it's a 2000 trust me there are 4 converters because everywhere i look there's a listing for front/passanger,rear/passenger etc there's 4 converters, a resonator after the split and then the muffler like i said every expedition with this design has broken/stripped exhaust bolts in the cylinder head when I do fix it, the cylinder heads are coming off for machining i figure around 300k i might look into this but the engine runs smooth and trans shifts smooth i bought it from an old man who had every service record Well I don't trust you because you've been wrong about at least 30% of your corrections. Regardless if it has 2 or 4 converters, you can pick up 2 walker converters on amazon for 100$ each. I just did it for two vehicles recently. You can get two converters and convert your 4 converter system to a two converter system. You just have to make sure the o2 bungs are approximately the same distance from your new converters as the were the front of the front converters and the back of the rear converters. What did you do? Get the Eddie Bauer version? If so, bad move. again you are ignoring the fact that there are broken exhaust bolts inside the cylinder heads to do it right the cylinder heads need to come off what you are suggesting is a half assed fix also people have reported replacing their manifolds gaskets and pulling the broken bolts to replace them, only to have their manifolds crack less than a year later there is a design flaw that involves too much backpressure that needs to be addressed |

I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

If so, bad move. why? it has a 5.4 2v with no cam phasers and a 4r100 transmission it's great Whenever I shop for parts for my truck I always look at the EB parts as well just to remind myself how glad I am that I didn't get the EB. Some are not even available any more and most are twice as expensive. I got the XLT all-wheel drive 5.4 and it's a beast. The original encoder motor still works like new and there is actually a manual-shift kit available for the transfer case. I hope it isn't as much of a chore for you as it has been for many people I know. To ignore tyranny is to give it medium to thrive! |
