Here is a thought: Evidence shows Mankind as having previously been wiped out by alien forces. It is said the earth was then repopulated with basically a stadium full of survivors.. people left on earth. Now, Just consider that? This time, cos all evidence points to it happening again, except someone messed up and let the Black Goo out! Seriously dangerous thing left in the Falkland Islands under ice as inert.. til the fox got in the hen house. It seems it was hoped to never be unearthed again as it was brought here to protect the rest of the Universe.
