Australia Develops World’s First Surface Disinfectant to Kill COVID-19 in 90 Seconds

From today, millions of Australians in aged care, universities, schools, pubs and restaurants will have access to a world-first surface spray that kills COVID-19 within 90 seconds.

Supplies will be made available to the broader community as early as the end of the month.

"We expect to be in a position to export ViroCLEAR to the United States, Asia and Europe by mid-year".

Other surface disinfectants take as long as ten minutes to kill the coronavirus — with some unable to do it at all.

COVID-19 can stay on the surface for 10 minutes or longer.

The length of time coronavirus lasts on a surface depends on factors such as temperature and the types of surface — it can live on plastic for up to 72 hours, steel for up to 48 hours, cardboard for up to 24 hours and copper for up to four hours.
