People past 70 years old aren't even capable of making rational decisions on something like an HOA board or city government committee. Too much memory loss, repeatedly forgetting things, coming up with overly fantastic ideas, living as though life is still like it was in their early adulthood, out of touch with modern laws, etc. They are horribly frustrating and usually just mess things up. You are 100% right.
