Transhumanism: They Want to Replace Us With Robots, but Are We to Become Those Robots?

I just thought I'd bring this up for discussion. I've been hearing for a while that they want to replace us with robots and always assumed that meant actual robots.

But now that they're talking about transhumanism, I had a disturbing thought. Did they really mean that they're planning to turn us into those robots? Not actually replacing us so much as transforming us.

Hollywood churns out a lot of predictive programming, and as I thought about this, I remembered an unsettling scene about debt slaves being turned into mindless automatons from a TV show called Continuum.
