Any amateur astronomers here, besides the obvious one?

I’ve got a question for you all:

I just bought a new scope and stand. I got a Sky Watcher Evostar 100Ed and the celestron AVX

My question: this is the first time I have owned an equatorial mount with a computer driven drive. When I set up and calibrate the drive does not seem to work. It slews to a star to calibrate and then the next star to calibrate. But then when I enter another object say the moon, it fails to slew to it. What could be the cause?

Anyone know of some good astronomy chat websites?
