Ended up having to order the heater from Home Depot and, honestly, I was concerned. Ordered their installation services as well.

Installer showed up with what I'd ordered, on time. I'd ordered what had been in place for 20 years and was here when I bought the place. Turned out that wasn't the right heater, mine had not been installed to code for all those years but worked fine nonetheless.

He said he'd get the right unit and come back the next day between 3 and 6 pm.

Turned out he had van issues when he was on a call 140 miles from here earlier that day. Instead of blowing me off, which I'd have had to understand given the circumstances, the guy rented a pickup, got back to our area, grabbed the heater and installed it. Was all done by 7 p.m.

In this day and age? I thought that was fantastic, particularly given the circumstances. It's what, once upon a time, most service people would have done; today it's the exception.

So, long story short, yes, we have HOT WATER!

The kids and I did get sick after husband tested positive. We did do the benadryl, pepcid, and milk on top of all the other usual suggestions.

Despite having to do in-person business, I am so-far doing ok. I credit the supplements/IVM protocol, a good mask, and a lot of luck.

I'm letting wait anything that can wait, but still have the roommates who need to be out and about. We're all cautious, but with Omicron, that only gets one so far.

There is so much conflicting information about Omicron -- the amount of immunity it does/doesn't provide, how severe it might be, etc. etc.

It would be great if this really was the end of Covid, and it was becoming mild and just another endemic illness, but I am not really buying that.
