Hey Moni! Me too. We had to cancel Thanksgiving because of logistics. It was a last minute thought to do it, though. We're all supposed to meet in Missouri again for an after Christmas Christmas. Part of me thinks it might not be a great idea. The rest of me wants to see my son and his family, the ones in Texas. It'll be 2 full years by then.

It's mostly hinged so far on the weather. This newish variant is a somewhat unexpected monkeywrench. I should've known, though.

I always planned on mailing Christmas anyway, just in case.

It arose in Botswana, where Gythu reminded us that the elephants died from unknown causes,Perhaps one of the investigators had Covid, and it "grabbed" the elephant disease. If so, it may mean that Covid can build mutations from sources other than Covid.Not a happy thought.

You and your girlfriend are much younger than I am. You still have a good size portion of life left to live. Going by my family statistics, I really only have 10 good years left and maybe 20 years total. Believe me, it goes faster than flight.

I've come close to dying a couple of times, so sometimes I feel like I'm on borrowed time. I figure if I die from giant hugs from my kids and grands, I'll die a happy woman. I've done most of the things that are on my bucket list...at least the ones I'm not scared of doing! (Like skydiving!) I think most people don't want to get sick and die. I know I don't, but I've always dealt with problems as they come up. I know what could happen, my kids are grown and doing well. Maybe not in the way I envisioned, but I gave them a good solid base to start out on.

I'm just trying to say, I understand how you feel. Take good care of each other, Jazz. Y'all have to do what is right for you. All I can promise is, if I get sick, I promise not to cough on y'all!

Too soon to tell. Governments are panicking, which is never a good thing. And we can't trust them to tell us the truth. Keep an eye on Israel and South Korea for information on Omicron. Those two countries have the best track record for transparency so far.
