Solar wind flowing from a coronal hole hits our planet: Spaceweather summary 20 february 2021 VIDEO!!!

So how bout a brief summary of what this means ?

Today it's very windy where we are in western ny state. Feels 20 degrees colder than it is. Is this because of the corona hole thingy ?

Probably see more eletrical disturbances, transformers blowing up, radio wont tune in properly, maybe your computer locks up or your car wont start.. a plane might fall out of the sky. most people never even notice the highly charged stream of ionized particles. Take a bath, eat an orange.. try to relaxxxxx.

Nope the cold your feeling is the effect of the polar vortex split that happened a week ago I covered this subject in this particular video that I made:



Solar wind has an impact on the weather in the sense that it can increase the intensity of ongoing weather systems but for that it has to reach at least a kp 5.

This particlar solar wind stream is weak because although there is speed the density is very low.

The long term effects of solar wind is warmer temperatures and el nino conditions.

We are currently experiencing the opposite of that because of the ongoing solar minimum. (la nina)

This means cold winters are to be expected until solar maximum arrives.

Well thanks for that. I immediately recalled reading yesterday or so about a flying car going way up and then crashing down.

Wonder if that was coronally wholly induced.

I can't believe how unusually cold and windy it is today. Like nothing I've seen and felt all winter. The thermometer on the porch reads 41 degrees, the highest temp in seven weeks, yet it feels very well below zero. I thought it was due to some cosmic weather event before I read this thread.

Coming up from the barn I was feeling cold shock and I'd only been doing chores for 45 minutes. Truly really unusual, even for western ny state.

Solar cycle 25 is forecasted to begin in 2020 and reach it's max more or less around 2025.

Each cycle has an average duration of 11 years.


But be warned this is only a forecast some cycles are longer or shorter than others...

In my opinion that sort of things happens in severe space weather conditions usually with xflare's or long duration flares followed by cme's.

Could be wrong dough.

This is rather interesting the KP hovers at 4 but for some reason it fails to become a g1 storm KP5 out of reach or some reason.
