Yep sometimes Im in a fender mood and sometimes I want to rock out my Les Paul.

My buddy lived across the street from Les Paul in Mahwah NJ. He always wanted to go over to his house to get his Les Paul signed by Les Paul. Well he procrastinated and his young son did it without him.. His son took his cheap $150 knock off and his dads real Les Paul and got them both signed. Good thing he did it when he did because ole Les kicked the bucket some months later.

Re: Gibson or Fender
OP mentioned P Bass

umm like yeah! Fender Precision is the best or a Fender Jazz Bass if ya gots small hands

Never found a Gibson bass that 'grabbed' me (some of you will get that pun)

I much prefer the sound of a P bass over anything else but they are ugly looking things but I'll say Gibson never made a bad looking bass.

I agree, I think there are some great looking Gibsons (Thunderbird!) but I could never get that fat sound. Guess I needed a wall of Marshalls(HiWatts?) like Entwistle lol

Putting a 50s pickguard on a P Bass is the best look you can hope for with them...

Re: Gibson or Fender
I have a Jag and vintage Mustang bass.

The Jag sounds lovely, clean, thru my JC-120.

Re: Gibson or Fender
Gibson is overpriced for the quality you get.

Gibson and Tele are thick neck, Strat is thinner.

Gibson is heavy, a Strat isn't.

I like control knob placement on Gibson better.

Both pickup styles sound great for respective styles.

Humbucker low noise is nice.

Strat coil splitting is nice.

I'd get an ESP if I could choose one guitar for the money.
