How could Texans know this information is there was no power in the first place. Please GOD let this blow up in their FACE! Quoting: Cebeij (i) with respect to any Specified Resource that is an ERCOT Generation Resource or Settlement Only Generator whose operator notifies ERCOT that the unit is unable, or expected to be unable, to produce at its maximum output due to an emission or effluent limit in any federal environmental permit, ERCOT shall ensure that such Specified Resource is only allowed to exceed any such limit during a period for which ERCOT has declared an Energy Emergency Alert (EEA) Level 2 or Level 3. This incremental amount of restricted capacity would be offered at a price no lower than $1,500/MWh. Once ERCOT declares that such an EEA Level 2 or Level 3 event has ended, the unit is required to immediately return to operation within its permitted limits; and (ii) with respect to any Specified Resource that is an ERCOT Generation Resource whose operator notifies ERCOT that the unit is offline or would need to go offline due to an emission or effluent limit in any federal environmental permit, and to which ERCOT has issued a Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) instruction, the operator may make all of the unit’s capacity available to ERCOT for dispatch during a period for which ERCOT has declared an EEA Level 2 or Level 3. This incremental amount of restricted capacity would be offered at a price no lower than $1,500/MWh. Once ERCOT declares that such an EEA Level 2 or Level 3 event has ended, the unit is required to immediately return to operating at a level below the higher of its minimum operating level or the maximum output allowable under the permitted limit Our DOJ and all seventeen agencies are corrupt. Quoting: Rainbow7 Texas should ignore and push the price of Electricity Mega low by over producing. They can't produce enough for themselves einstein. They have been ordered to cut output by the Feds. Pay attention please. They went over the max allowed due to FEDERAL EMISSIONS REGULATIONS and the FEDS want them to cut back now. KEEP PRODUCING TEXAS AND DRIVE THE PRICE DOWN! Last Edited by Rainbow7 on 02/19/2021 04:18 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77374864 United States 02/19/2021 04:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ERCOT has been alerted that numerous generation units will be unable to operate at full capacity without violating federal air quality or other permit limitations. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80052552 Texans ALSO hate having to put Pollution Control equipment on their power plants ... the stuff that other Utilities across the entire country put on their plants as a matter of course. If there is a way to make power cheap ... enriching the insiders while screwing the Average Joe ... well rich Texans will do it. On a side note I really have to wonder WHY Texans have to pay so much for Electricty particularly with so much natural gas around. I live up in snow and ice country with NO hydro, and here it costs about 5 cents per kwh for the electricity plus a 5 cent or so per kwh "delivery charge" for a total charge of about 10 cents/kwh. (some sellers of electricity are selling it for closer to 3.5 cents per kwh but I like a fixed rate vs variable rate) My one son who lives in the next city over is paying just under 7 cents/kwh, including the delivery charge for fixed rate electricity. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80066087 02/19/2021 04:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The lawyer jargon is real. This will confuse most of the plebs. Literally have to ask permission to use more energy and get approval from DoE. Spooks got caught red handed. Now what? Quoting: Cebeij They would not need to exceed emission limits if the gas wells didn't freeze up shutting down a bunch of plants requiring what generation is left to run balls to the wall. Every power plant in the country has emission limits and things worked just fine for the past 51 years since the first iteration of the clean air act. It's really simple... engineers didn't think it would get this cold for this long, and they were wrong. It happens from time to time. A month ago if your power company said they needed to raise your rates by 20% to freezeproof everything you would have made angry threads about that. Are you sure they froze or is that the story being told? |
