That's unbelievable and outrageous. Why are those people on the board? They should be sued for dereliction of duty.

But isn't it strange that the Democrats and the media are blaming Ted Cruz?

But we DON'T blame Cruz for this. We would have gotten the hell out of here too if we could.

Oh, NOW Texans get pissed because foreigners are running their energy plants. Why didn't you look into this during the nice summertime? Hipocrites, because now that you are cold you need to scream at the boogie man.

Maybe this can be a lesson......begin to take over you local government before a calamity hits. Once the storm is upon you, it is too late.

Every Texan had the opportunity to steer the head of that organization, but they had rather watched ESPN or played games on their IPhone. Yes, the elites have dumbed down the average American, so you get what you vote for.

More on the Chair - Craven Crowell

“ Crowell's international work after his service at TVA was a continuation of his efforts in promoting TVA's international activities with global bond issues in Europe and Asia and business partnerships in China. In 1996, working with the State of Tennessee, TVA sponsored the Economic Opportunities through Water and Energy Conference in Beijing.

After Crowell signed three Memorandums of Understanding with the Chinese Ministries of Water Resources and Electric Power, TVA began sharing its expertise on several large projects in China relating to river management, hydroelectric dams, and upgrading of electric power systems. In 2001, Crowell keynoted a conference in Beijing on the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

In 2002, Governor Niu Maosheng appointed Crowell to the position of International Economic Advisor to the People's Government of the Hebei Province. Earlier, in 1997, Crowell became the first non-Chinese citizen to be named honorary president of Hohai University in Nanjing, China.

Texans are getting to know the 50-year-old council and are not liking what they’re learning. For one thing, about a third of its members don’t even live in Texas.

Records show the two top office holders of the 15-member board of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), live out-of-state. Three other ERCOT board members also appear to live thousands of miles from Texas.

I'm sure there a lot of people in Texas are super pissed off about this. I would be. I mean, come on, fucking Toronto?? The board members may as well resign and delete all their online accounts now because they are in DEEP DO-DO. Hell they may even be prosecuted.

Re: Texas Electric Board Members Live WHERE?
I was surprised no one is mentioning the Texas Panhandle wind farm scam launched by T. Boone Pickens back in 2009.

Got a feeling that his botched project is somehow relevant to the current situation, especially since it turns out it was just a distraction from his real motivation, to pump water out of the Ogallala Aquifer in the panhandle and sell it to cities along the Mexican border.

[link to www.texasmonthly.com (secure)]

His shenanigans certainly made it clear that Texas resources could easily be manipulated for corporate gain. No doubt the word got out to the kind of foreign investors who never miss an opportunity to capitalize on legal loopholes.

And now we see the result.

All that Texans have to do is pass a law stating the board members must be a permanent verifiable resident of Texas. Unless that happens, then I hope Texans like the continuous lackluster energy needs.

Another connection to China

Kevin Gresham - Independent Generator Market Segment

Works for ACORE The American Council on Renewable Energy which also works with The Chinese National Energy Administration.

“ Both the U.S. Department of Energy and China’s NEA are participants in the partnership to facilitate cross-border dialogue between companies. Another prominent group involved in the partnership is the American Council on Renewable Energy, a trade association comprising of various multinationals and investment banks who possess not only the necessary capital but innovative funding techniques to invest in high-quality renewable energy projects.”

They (ERCOT) are claiming that the situation was catastrophic and that the grid monitors saved the day.

Diverting attention from the cause of all the power generation systems failing, and focusing on the simple and obvious decision to initiate the rolling blackouts to save the grid from severe damage.

Texas was "seconds and minutes" away from catastrophic monthslong blackouts, officials say

..."The worst case scenario: Demand for power outstrips the supply of power generation available on the grid, causing equipment to catch fire, substations to blow and power lines to go down.

If the grid had gone totally offline, the physical damage to power infrastructure from overwhelming the grid could have taken months to repair, said Bernadette Johnson, senior vice president of power and renewables at Enverus, an oil and gas software and information company headquartered in Austin.

“As chaotic as it was, the whole grid could’ve been in blackout,” she said. “ERCOT is getting a lot of heat, but the fact that it wasn’t worse is because of those grid operators.”...

I think ERCOT caused more damage to more homes doing their power interruptions over a large area. Interruptions that lasted too long to keep pipes from freezing. They extended damage into areas that would have had no problems without ERCOT.
