I have the misfortune of living in New York.
Each day I am going to catalogue one of the many indignities of living in this mismanaged state.
Today:
I forgot my EZPass one day a couple of months ago. There are no longer booths if you don't have an EZPass. They take a picture of your license plate and send you a bill.
I crossed a bridge twice back and forth. $19 in total.
That's so crazy expensive it could be it's own entry, but that's not the actual indignity.
Either we didn't get the bill (which is possible since a lot of Xmas mail disappeared) or we misplaced or errantly tossed it.
In any case, we are now being charged a late fee, and here then is today's kick in the nuts.
On a $19 bill, we are being charged a $200 late fee! $100 for each late payment of $9.50.
No appeal. No way to reduce it. I balked at paying it the ridiculous bill 2 weeks ago, and I now have a credit collection agency calling me.
NY state....raping me financially and threatening to ruin my credit over a $19 toll.
And that's today in New York Sucks!
