I think maybe all plant smoking counts in this case. Covid is like ... gimme fresh clean lungs. It might explain why this sudden drop in cases ... everyone who would get it did ... the rest ... their lungs are inhospitable ...? Anonymous Coward User ID: 79612897 United States 02/13/2021 01:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It makes weird sense. perhaps this may explain: Cigarette smoke is a heterogeneous aerosol, which contains more than 4000 chemicals [1]. These include various compounds, which are capable of causing an increase in the generation of various reactive oxygen species like O2•-, H2O2, OH•, ROO•. These reactive oxygen species in turn are capable of initiating and promoting oxidative damage in the form of lipid peroxidation.....less than fiddy% [link to link.springer.com (secure)] |

That discussion soon disappeared - no doubt because smoking is such a terrible thing yada yada. Perhaps people would start smoking to avoid covid yada yada. I clearly remember it coming up because I am a tobacco smoker. Quoting: SugarSand Masked hardresser ... old friend ... decades long hairdresser ... she used to have her own shop which was like a TV barber shop with the gossip and such but now we're at a new salon so she's whispering in my ear ... she said: All the nurses say smokers don't get covid. They all started smoking again. They say all of those people on ventilators are non-smokers, and they haven't had smokers dying. I said: you quit smoking 15 years ago ... she said: I know you probably still smoke American Spirits ... you always did. That's what they said to smoke. I started again. that really happened Plus we all know hairdressers have the best intel! |

I clearly remember it coming up because I am a tobacco smoker. smoking CLEARLY, REPEATEDLY AND BY ALL MEASURES APPLIED prevents Parkinson's Disease don't say it's the nicotine, use gum or a patch. the active ingredient is not known. if you smoke, you have a much lower chance of developing PD. The more you smoke, the smaller your chance of developing PD. this has been known for many decades and has been shown to be true in many different countries and populations. there it is. If you have it in your family, smoke. I am not kidding. Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face – Thomas Sowell |

I clearly remember it coming up because I am a tobacco smoker. It was mainstream news for a few days here in the uk. I also took notice because I'm a heavy smoker and there was conflicting accounts of whether smoking made you more or less at risk. Since it was never mentioned again I suspect it does make you less susceptible but they don't want millions of people starting to smoke. |
