Yeah I had a beautiful silver 63 LeMans/326 stupid 3 speed in high school half a century ago, When I looked under the rear I figured it was positraction. NO. It was the unforgivable STUPID STUPID STUPID EVEN STUPIDER THAN THAT Corvair crackerbox transaxle. One night I lined up at a stop light against a red 390 66 Fairlane. My Tempest started spinning across the intersection so....OHHH... I need some cheater slicks. Right. Blew the TA out 3 times and it got repossed.

Trivia info. With the big bore 4.032 bore, the 3.5" stroke the 409 can take the 3.9" 454 crank and be overbored to 488 CID.

I had a 1994 Formula Firebird new in the day. It was the fastest car I have ever owned, and also the biggest POS.

A good friend bought a new Trans Am in the spring of ‘79.

It was silver and it was gorgeous to behold.

We were about to graduate HS.

I was never jealous of his girlfriends but damn I was jealous about that car.
