Amazing how they rush to protect a child from seeing anything sexual but have no trouble sitting them front and center watching violent video games and tv
Humans are total screwbals
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78736552 They can be protected from both. I have often heard the violence/ex argument--old argument
But, while I really hate the violence also, I think that in most people sexuality is more personal.
We might encounter violence like what we see on a video game. and it can't be good to have that junk in your mind.
BUT--sexuality is something that we carry within. We will encounter it on a daily basis. It is a part of most of our lives from adolescence.
Therefore, not being exposed to negative sexuality roles is even more important as it is the basis for bonding with a partner and our own self-knowledge. To ruin that for children is a horrible thing to do.
I think we are so accustomed to the experts telling us that we have to show/tell kids everything, that we forget that the world did not have graphic sex education for thousands of years and I imagine most people figured out what to do and did it just as well as the people nowadays do it.
And, probably the people in most previous times probably had as good of sex lives as we do today. After all, great sex is not as dependent on a science class as much as it is about bonding, love, tenderness, and things that are not taught in science class. I seriously doubt that most pervert are great lovers. They are probably the worst--no matter how much education they have because their loving instincts are damaged.
My opinion.
