Salvation series on Amazon Prime - predictive programming?

I have been watching the Amazon Prime series "Salvation", which is about asteroid headed to Earth, which will cause an ELE. Initially, its a group of civilian scientists (headed by an Elon Musk type figure) working with the US government, but then a hacktivist group, Resist, gets involved and uses deception and backdoor attacks to get the USA and Russia to the point of open conflict, with Russia lobbing four ICBM's at the USA. It goes on, but I won't go further because that's not really the point of this post.
While watching the series, I noticed some interesting parallels between the series and real life, considering the series was made in 2018:

1) one of the nukes is diverted by Resist and it hits Liberty, KS, causing about 100 casualties. Liberty, KS was featured in Jeeps superbowl ad using a red star.

2) A sitting president is betrayed by the vice president. VP Pence betrayed Pres. Trump by not exercising his authority in regards to the electoral certification on January 6th.

3) The phrase "This is the new normal" is used often enough to catch ones attention.

There may be other similarities that I have not noticed yet. Just putting this out for awareness and discussion.
