Anonymous Coward User ID: 79131598 United States 02/07/2021 06:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can you explain the silver squeeze thing. Quoting: Agent 99 So paper silver is entirely different than physical silver. Paper silver is going to end up in class action suits because they can't produce the physical and lots of people will lose tons of money. We know this part. Physical is limited. Supply and demand. What will this distribution to personal ownership do to the price of silver this coming year? No one has been able to answer this accurately, with wild speculation up to 25k per oz. Then all kinds of estimates of price to ratio that doesn't make sense. Reasonable estimates are Gold 5000 per oz. Silver 70 per oz. But what determines these prices? Once upon a time...a dollar was backed by one ounce of silver and a twenty dollar bill was backed by one ounce of gold. There are those who maintain that this "historic" ratio is the correct one. It's akin to saying that since at one time people used horses for transport that we should maintain that an no automobile should have an engine that produces more than one horsepower. It comes down to supply and demand. Which means the prices of gold and silver will vary and don't have any fixed value ratio unless a government decided to create such a relationship with a precious metal vs. fiat currency. There really hasn't been a "distribution to personal ownership" at this point. Current owners have sold into the rallies, new owners have purchased what was sold. That may change if the demand for physical silver continues and grows. If that demand does not persist and grow this is all much ado about nothing in my view. And yes, I've owned precious metals at one level or another for 55+ years. I thought I read someplace that the mining of gold to silver is 6 to 1, so gold should be 6 times more expensive than silver, which means silver is way undervalued. Right now silver should be $300 an ounce. . |

They're like the duffle bag with 100 grand in it every mobster keeps in the closet in case he has to run and lay low for awhile. You General Motors stock might go to 10 cents but your silver never will. If anything it will sky rocket as GM goes to zero. No need to go berserk, 100 ounces should be more than enough to keep you going for awhile if things get dicey. If 100 ounces isn't enough to tie you over for awhile, then that means it's never going to be over. In which case it's back to the stone age anyway. A truck load of silver wouldn't buy you the last loaf of bread. Because the only money left... is the last loaf of bread. |

I've bought beers with silver, my barber takes silver. In fact I got a free haircut and beard trim once when I hadn't seen Kim in awhile and she explained how the silver she had collected allowed her to eat for a few weeks when she was going through a rough patch. Never tried to buy a car with it. Au would probably be a better bet for that. Yea I know it is. The issue is small town folk like these are the type to really believe shtf already. They just see it as a small time that regular life will go on so there really is a serious panic going on with the majority of the people. Its partially thier lifestyle and fundamentalish upbringing. Probably will turn out these guys were right to take things so extreme considering the information anarchy blanketing everything. |

Gold was always the 'kings' money and does infact carry a fever with it. Silver is the 'common mans' money and actually will get you farther along in a mad max world. People will always go crazy for gold and thus it is unstable to a degree. Silver is more cool and not so hot. They both, gold and silver go hand in hand throughout history. Nothing will change this regardless of what happens. Its part of humans heritage. |
