It doesnt make the project useless but encourages those who design to do better Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73179195 Elon's biggest mistake was that when he needed to impress the FAA with results, he failed to prevent his rocket from crashing. They were "too dumb". Redundancy is a lifesaver. They should have started their engines earlier. They should have done the belly flop higher. They should have had enough fuel to land softly. Sadly I believe SpaceX is really going to be hurt by this failure to perform and more importantly achieve the goals they set for themselves. SN8 suffered the same sort of failure on landing because they cut their margin of error too close for comfort. That was too dumb. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76190650 They will pierce the dome when they put Starship on top of the super heavy booster. The video will be incredible, so incredible you will say it is faked. Sending a Tesla into space was well warranted. It almost looked real, that’s how I know it wasn’t faked. They needed a payload, Elon needed a advertising gimmick. I cannot fault him for a genius move that made the whole world impressed. Personally I would have sent a 1965 Volkswagen beetle into space. But it was a very fitting tribute to David Bowie rip. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78107266 United States 02/04/2021 08:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How many hungry worldwide are there? I am totally serious. If you want to go there, let's discuss how space benefits the world. First off there isn't a spot on this planet that cannot receive up to the second weather information from satellites. That information allows farmers to plant their crops at the best time to plant them and produce higher yields of foodstuffs. It also provides early warning for storms. The world hunger we see today is nothing compared to the famines we had before space travel. In fact there are those that have suggested that the world is getting over populated because we are not starving to death like we used to. So How many hungry worldwide are there? |

Actually the Moon landings were more real than any sci fi of their age. When we landed on the moon the best Hollywood could create used paintings and puppets to try to give us a sense of what it would be like. |

Every supplier of stuff every driver of stuff every builder of stuff that all those families bought from everyone one everywhere...his actions fed many people...whats wrong with you ac.....open your mind see the big picture....or one guy can spend a ton of money on rice and peanut butter sammies and give it a line of poor people until its gone...and what did that accomplish but create a bigger line of poor hungry people mainly the ones that would have prefered to have job and do something cool and have the money float around to everyone in area.... And logged back in as Farm on a separate device about a minute or so later. May not have been a second device per se, could be simple cookie/router machinations to simulate a second device, but to log in simultaneously after being outed you were forced to do more than just log off and on- the tracking has trouble distinguishing those specifics) I know, “coincidence,” right? |
