I read that at the equator the earth rotates around 1000 miles per hour. So everything on the planet is moving with the inertia at the same speed. So if you shot an anvil, before and during the shot, the force of movement of the earth is still being exerted on the anvil. Maybe someone else can explain this better.
So why do we not feel this force. Everything on earth is moving at unison including the atmosphere. Notice how when a hurricane is being tracked, it travels according the winds and pressure systems and if not affected can stay in one spot for days.
Maybe someone can find a good video on this.
