Which Eratosthenes writings are being referenced, there are none just belief fable.
Eratosthenes, This is based on belief fable and assumption. It makes for a nice story but, likely never happened as there are no Eratosthenes actual writings and calculations,. Using the same method and a local sun shows that Earth is flat and non-rotating.
The distance to the sun is just an assumption, what it is and how it functions just theories.
The sun is never directly over Aswan Egypt during the summer solstice June 21 12 noon so, impossible to look in a well there and see the sun centered at the bottom.
Alexandria is not due north of Aswan.
Alexandria is not 500 miles from Aswan.
